More ways we help

How we work

We call it science with soul. We use proven methods and we treat every person as a whole person, never as a diagnosis. Rigor and compassion belong together.

We start with you

Before we talk about goals, we listen to what matters to you and your family.

We work with you, not at you

You know your life best. Plans are built together and changed together.

We measure what matters

We track progress so you can see what's working and what isn't, in plain numbers and plain words.

More than changing behavior

We're after a life that works for you, not just a list of fixed problems.

What happens when you reach out

No pressure and no long forms. Here's what to expect.

  1. You send a message

Tell us a little about what's going on. A few sentences is plenty.

  2. We talk

We set up a first conversation by phone or video to learn about you and see if we're a good fit.

  3. We make a plan together

Goals come from your priorities, not from a template.

  4. We begin and check in often

We review progress with you regularly and adjust as life changes.

What it costs

Illuma is a private-pay practice, so we don't bill insurance. We share our fees during your first conversation, before you decide anything.

Behavior science belongs to everyone.

It can help at every age and stage of life.

Behavior science is the study of why people do what they do, and how to help when something isn't working. It's often linked to one group of people or one kind of program. We think it can help at home, at school, at work, and in the community.

Illuma was started by two behavior analysts who wanted care that is warm, honest, and built around the person in front of us.

Questions people ask

Do you take insurance?

No. Illuma is a private-pay practice. We share our fees in your first conversation, before you decide anything.

Do we need a diagnosis?

No. Many people come to us with everyday struggles, like bedtime, school stress, or feeling overwhelmed. A diagnosis isn't required for Flourish or Navigate.

Is this therapy?

It depends on the pathway. Flourish is behavior support for parents and children. Navigate and Nourish are coaching, which focuses on skills and action rather than talking through your past. If another kind of care would serve you better, we'll say so.

What does 'Licensed Behavior Analyst' mean?

A Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) holds a state license to practice behavior analysis. Most are also Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), a national credential that requires a graduate degree, supervised training, and a certification exam. Licensing is granted state by state, so we are happy to tell you exactly where each of us is licensed.

Is this ABA?

Our work is built on applied behavior analysis (ABA), the science of how behavior works and changes. Many people only know ABA from one type of program. We use it more broadly, always with warmth, choice, and respect for the person.

Is it online or in person?

Most of our work happens online, across Mississippi and Kentucky. In-person support is available near Grenada, Mississippi.

How do I know which pathway is right?

You don't have to figure it out first. Send us a message about what's going on and we'll point you in the right direction.
